Rena Dourou, a deputy with the Greek radical Syriza party who was assaulted live on television by Ilias Kasidiaris, a high-profile member of the far-right Golden Dawn, says similar attacks happen every night against women and immigrants in Athens. Dourou says the actions of Kasidiaris on Thursday morning reveal the true nature of his party. She also highlights that many police officers are thought to have voted for Golden Dawn.
